'But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. '
I woke up on Sunday with the word rejoice echoing through my mind. It just would not go away and I found myself singing Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice. My soul magnifies the Lord again and again and again. I really felt it was a word for some one and shared with a few people at church during the morning. The word is still running through my mind and so I am sharing it with you. I feel the word for this week is REJOICE!
As I was walking home today I tried to think of all the things I wanted to rejoice over. The list was so long that I am not going to even try and write them all down. Its a good exercise though. How many things can you think of that you can rejoice over?
Of course it may be that things are not going too well for you. Then it is good to remember that happiness comes from happenings but true joy comes from knowing the Lord. Our verse tells us if we take refuge in the Lord then we can sing for joy. Surely we are doing this when we bring every little part of our life to Him, including our problems with food, weight and health. If we acknowledge that we cannot lose weight on our own, but only in His strength, then we will be successful and will be in a place to sing for joy. During our prayer times we can call on the Lord to spread His protection over us and declare that we love Him. If you love the name of Jesus, then you will be able to rejoice in Him.
So come on and join with me and Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice!
