'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.'

My husband would tell you that one of the greatest gifts we have from God is peace. He is speaking of an inner peace you can feel whatever is going on in your life. At the present time many of you will know that we are trying to move to Woodingdean. Originally we were told that we could exchange on January 2nd. and move the following Friday. For various reasons we still havent exchanged contracts yet. In the verse Jesus is speaking and he tells us that He is leaving His peace with us. But it is more than that he is giving it to us. My peace I give you. It is a gift and it is available for each person who believes in Him. In the verse He tells us that He does not give to us as the world gives. At the present time we feel as if many of the people around us are giving us a lot of grief. Many are lacking in integrity. Some are being dishonest, rude, inefficient and selfish. They are giving in the worlds way but the verse reminds us that this is not Gods way. It would be easy for us to join in but we are trying to live Gods way. Im not saying it is easy but if we truly believe that He has our best interests at heart then we really can trust Him. Our hearts do not need to be troubled nor do we need to be afraid of the future. We can be filled with His peace.
