'But He knows the way I take; When He has tested me I will come out as gold.' 

Most of us will have heard about Job and the terrible trials that he underwent at the hands of Satan. God allowed Satan to do anything he wanted to Job as long as He did not kill him. Through it all Job praised the Lord and would not be cross or turn away from Him. He knew that God knew exactly what was happening to him. That even though it was Satan playing with him God was ultimately in control and that he would come out as gold.

I am told it is extremely rare to find a nugget of pure gold. When gold is refined it is put in the fire and melted down to get out all the impurities and we are a bit like that. None of us are pure and perfect and we have to be willing to allow God to refine us in whichever way He thinks best. I am sure that we all have very different trials and tribulations that the Lord has allowed in our lives.

To align ourselves with Job we do, of course, have to be Gods people who trust Him and allow Him to be in control of our lives. As most of you will know being a Christian doesnt mean life is always easy but it does mean that God knows what we are going through. That He can use these circumstances to purify us, like gold. He understands when we are tempted, be it by food or other things and will never tempt us beyond what we can bear, rather like Job. He knows that we are weak and that we cannot achieve great things on our own but He is always there to help us.

So this is the bottom line, being overweight and unhealthy isnt easy. Trying to lose weight isnt easy. There will be times when we are tempted. Satan doesnt want you fit to do the Lords work so he will be in there making it difficult for you. However God knows the way you take and after you have been tested you will come out as gold

God already thinks you are priceless. Hallelujah!
