2 Cor 3:18 - Change

'As the spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him.'

Do you really want change?

Todays verse comes with a story about a frog who fell into a hole in the road. He tried and tried but he couldnt get out. After a while some of his friends came along and they tried to help him. It didnt matter what they did they just couldnt get him out. In the end they decided the best thing they could do was to go and get some food and bring it back to their friend. So off they went along the road. In a short while, to their amazement the frog came jumping along behind them. We thought you couldnt get out of the hole, they said. So did I, said the frog. But then there was a big lorry coming towards me and I found that I could.

We are a bit like the frog. Most of us don’t really like change. We are happier with familiar problems than untried solutions. Generally we only change when

1. We are hurting so much we are forced to.

2. We accept that what we are doing no longer works.

3. We realise that by Gods grace we can change.

Nothing sparks the fires of faith more than the sudden realization that we dont have to stay the same way anymore. And we dont. We know that there was tremendous change when the Holy Spirit descended at Pentecost. And that same Holy Spirit will work in your life today. So do you really want change because with His help its  possible.
